Advancing toward the SE2026: BPS Strengthens Alignment and Strategic Synergy
April 14, 2026 | BPS Activities
In preparation for the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026), which is scheduled to begin in May 2026, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) is increasingly aligning its efforts and strengthening collaboration with various stakeholders.
During the Communication, Coordination, and Diplomacy (KKD) Briefing attended by all BPS employees from Sabang to Merauke, the Chief Statistician of BPS RI, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti urged all BPS employees to play an active role in ensuring the success of SE2026.
“The Economic Census belongs to the Indonesian people, and BPS has been entrusted with the significant responsibility of carrying it out. This is our opportunity to make the best possible contribution to this nation,” stated Amalia before all BPS staff present in person at the STIS Statistics Polytechnic Auditorium as well as those participating online (31/3). Amalia reiterated that the trust placed in the BPS’s role is the result of collective hard work and a mandate to be fulfilled diligently.
In line with this, the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. K.H. Nasaruddin Umar, on the same occasion highlighted the crucial role of statistics as a source of information driving transformation. “The function of statistics is to fulfill a mandate. A valid source is not what people say, but what the numbers say. And the most valid, most recognized source of data is BPS,” he explained.
The Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Giring Ganesha, was also present and expressed his full support for SE2026, emphasizing the importance of more targeted government policies for the economy.
